Before you start
Before you start, you need to make sure that your music is in a format that YouTube can play. MP3 files are the most common type of audio file, but you can also upload M4A, WAV, and FLAC files.
Once you have your audio file ready, you’ll need to create a video to go along with it. You can do this by creating a visualizer in YouTube Studio, or by creating a Still Frame video.
Once you have your audio and video file ready, you can upload them to YouTube
To upload an audio or video file:
1. Go to www.youtube.com and sign in with your Google Account.
2. Click Upload at the top of the page.
3. Select Audio or Video and then select the file you want to upload.
Creating a YouTube channel
Before you can upload any music to YouTube, you need to create a channel. If you don’t have a channel, you can create one here.
Once you have a channel, upload your music by going to the Upload button in the top right corner of the screen and selecting Upload Video. You can also drag and drop your video into the “Upload” area.
When you upload a video, you’ll be able to choose if it’s unlisted or public. If you want people to be able to find your music through YouTube search, make sure it’s set to public.
Uploading your music
Now that you’ve recorded and exported your song, it’s time to upload it to YouTube! This process is pretty simple, but there are a couple things you’ll need to do before you begin:
1. Make sure your file is in an accepted format. YouTube accepts a wide range of video formats, but for audio-only files, you’ll need to use either MP3 or M4A.
2. Get a thumbnail image for your video. This is the image that will be displayed on YouTube when people are browsing for videos, so make sure it’s something that represents your song well. You can create a thumbnail image using any image editing software (such as Photoshop) or even paint!
3. Choose whether or not you want to include visualizations with your song. Visualizations are patterns and shapes that move to the beat of the music, and they can be really cool to watch! If you decide to include visualizations, make sure they’re in an accepted format (such as WMV or MPEG-4).
Once you’ve done all of that, simply head over to YouTube and sign in with your account. Then, click on the “Upload” button in the top right-hand corner of the page. From there, select your video file and click “Open.”YouTube will then begin processing your video so that it can be uploaded to the site!
Optimizing your music for YouTube
To get the best possible sound quality when uploading music to YouTube, you should use a lossless audio format. Lossless audio formats preserve all the details of the original recording, so you’ll get the full, rich sound that the artist intended. The most popular lossless audio format is WAV, but you can also use AIFF or FLAC.
Once you’ve encoded your music in a lossless format, you can compress it further for upload to YouTube. The best format for this is MP3, which is a lossy format that discards some of the original audio data to reduce file size. When compressing music for YouTube, aim for a bitrate of 192kbps or higher to ensure good sound quality.
Creating a great video for your music
To get started, make sure you have a good quality video of your song. If you don’t have one, you can create a simple video with just a few images and your song playing in the background. You can also use free video editing software like iMovie or Windows Movie Maker to create a more professional looking video.
Once you have your video, sign in to YouTube and click on the Upload button at the top of the page. Select your video from your computer’s hard drive and add it to YouTube.
Before you publish your video, take some time to add a catchy title, description, and tags. These will help people find your video when they’re searching on YouTube. Be sure to choose a thumbnail image that represents your video well.
Now you’re ready to share your music with the world!
Getting your music out there
There are a few ways to get your music on YouTube, but the best way is to upload it directly through the platform. This process is simple and only takes a few minutes. Here’s how to do it:
-First, create a YouTube account if you don’t already have one.
-Next, sign in and go to the YouTube Music section.
-Click on the Upload button in the top right corner.
-Select the video file you want to upload from your computer.
-Add some information about your video, such as the title, description, and tags.
-Finally, click on the Publish button to make your music available to the world!
Monetizing your music on YouTube
There are two types of uploads on YouTube- audio and video. If your intention is to only upload audio, you’ll need to make a video file that only contains an image for the duration of the song. The image can be static or it can be a slideshow of images.
Once you have your video file created, open up YouTube and sign in. On the top right corner of the screen, there will be an icon that says “Upload.” Click on this.
A pop up box will appear that says “Select files to upload.” Find your video file on your computer and click on it, then click “Open.”
Once your file is selected, it will appear on the screen with some options next to it. The first option is “Visibility.” You can choose to make your video public, unlisted (meaning people can only find it if they have the link), or private (meaning only people you invite can see it). For monetization purposes, you’ll want to select “Public.”
The next option is “Monetization.” Click on the check mark next to “Monetize with Ads.” Now, select what country you want your videos to run in and what language they’re in. When you’re finished with those options, click “Save Changes” at the bottom of the page.
Now that you’ve selected to monetize your videos, there are a few more steps! On the same page as before, below where it says “Publish,” there’s an area that says “Audience Defaults.” Here, you’ll need to check three boxes:
-Restricted Mode: Off
-1080p Resolution: On
-Video Description: Include keywords and links related to your video
After you’ve checked those boxes, scroll down a bit further and find where it says “Notifications.” Here, you should select three options: Enable Email Notification for New Uploads, Enable Mobile Notifications for New Uploads, and Enable Desktop Notifications for New Uploads.
The final step is to click on “Advanced Settings” and verify that everything is set up correctly. Make sure that under Membership-> who can see your videos-> Everyone is selected. Once everything looks good, hit save!
